Edge-, faceplate- and tilt latch

What are locking levers and edge latches and what function do they have? Locking levers and edge latches are essential components in many window systems. They enable the window sashes to be securely locked and operated. The locking lever is the device you use to open and close the window, while the edge latch ensures that the window sash remains securely in the closed position.
Why should defective locking levers and edge latches be replaced? A defective locking lever can make opening and closing the window sash difficult or even impossible. This affects the usability of the window. Locking levers and edge latches help prevent break-ins. A defective system can affect the locking of the window sash.
